Emergency Services: 540-373-6876

Nearly 200 people came to the Town Hall on the Opioid Crisis held during the evening of  May 10.  A daytime summit of community leaders drew 50 people who worked on local solutions to the epidemic. That summit launched three working groups to tackle the issue.

At the event, our Prevention Services staff gave away 50 medication lock-boxes and some medication disposal kits.  Safely disposing of medications is one way to fight the opioid problem.

At RACSB, we’re very excited about the collaborations that sprang from the town hall. Three working groups were created during the summit. Each group has met and detailed ways to address the growing problem. We look forward to teaming up with the community to battle opioid addiction on several fronts, by preventing opioid abuse, treating addiction, reversing overdoses, and educating the public.
