Description of Work:

The work includes approximately 1,000 square foot of interior renovations. Included are minor plan changes, a new handicapped ramp and railing, cabinetry, window film, doors and hardware, floor coverings, acoustical ceilings, painting, new and modified HVAC, misc. electrical work including new light fixtures, and minor adjustments to existing fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference:

A Mandatory Pre-bid Conference will be held Thursday, November 29, 2:00 PM, at the  Charles A. Cooper Building - Stafford County Clinic, 15 Hope Rd., Stafford, VA 22554. A brief tour of the affected areas will be provided.

Questions shall be directed to JT Cox & Associates Architects, PLC, Bill Loving, Project Architect, (804) 783-8742, bloving@coxarch.com. The deadline for RFIs is Monday, December 17, 10 AM.

Receipt of Bids:

Sealed bids will be received at the office of Rappahannock Area Community Services Board, 600 Jackson Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401, Attention: Kevin O’Bryan until 2:00 PM, local prevailing time, on December 20, 2018. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud in Conference Room 208 immediately thereafter.

Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form contained in the Bidding Documents. Additional procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawing of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instruction to Bidders.  Withdrawal due to error in bid in accordance with Section 11-54A(ii) Code of Virginia.  Owner reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.

The contract is to be awarded on a lump sum basis. Contractor registration in accordance with Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia is required.

Bonds:

Bid Bond: A certified check or bank draft, payable to Rappahannock Area Community Services Board or a satisfactory bid bond underwritten by an acceptable surety listed in the current U.S. Treasury Department Circular No. 570 and executed by the bidder in an amount equal to 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid.

Performance and Payment Bonds: The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price.
