From toilet training to learner’s permits, parenting is filled with challenges. Raising children comes with a huge set of challenges, and there aren’t many easy answers.
But we can help you create a brighter picture for you and your family.
We offer a series of interactive workshops that teach effective discipline techniques, positive parenting approaches, and self-esteem building. And we are now enrolling families for the next DARE To Be You session.
Workshops begin June 5, 2018 and include games, crafts, parenting tips and dinner.
There are specialized classes for children ages 3 and older. Participants would attend workshops on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from June 5 through June 28.
Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and classes will be from 6—7:30 p.m.
The workshops take place at Kenmore Club, 623 Kenmore Ave. in Fredericksburg. Adults who complete the program will receive a $50 gift card.
Building Skills
DARE To Be you is a family-based prevention program that focuses on positive behavior to help parents develop self-esteem, communication skills and stress management techniques. The sessions are appropriate for parents with children of all ages.
Prevention Services Coordinator Michelle Wagaman said:
We love being able to provide this family strengthening opportunity. It’s a chance to enjoy a family meal – without the stress of cooking – while building skills in an engaging and positive setting. Children have fun activities that reinforce the same lessons discussed in the parenting group.
For details or to register for the training, contact Jennifer Bateman, Prevention Specialist, at 540/374-3337, ext. 100 or [email protected].
When signing up, share the ages of children who will be attending and any special needs or food limitations.
