Guests of an upcoming dinner can enjoy delicious food paired with craft beers—while helping adults with developmental disability thrive in our community.

Each month, Spencer Devon Brewing offers a six-course dinner with custom beer pairings that raises money for charities in the Fredericksburg community. For November, that charity will be Rappahannock Adult Activities, which supports adults with developmental disability.

“The beer dinners allow Spencer Devon Brewing to partner with local non-profits and help where we can,” said Shawn Phillips, owner of Spencer Devon. “There are plenty of good people that are doing the heavy lifting when it comes to providing care and help to those who need it; I am simply grateful to be able to support this work.”

Providing Support

Tickets cost $75.  Proceeds will provide YMCA memberships, museum passes and swimming passes for participants of RAAI’s day support program. This support allows adults with developmental disabilities to remain in their community. Money from the beer pairing dinner will offer opportunities for exercise, education and excursions.

“Our goal is to make sure each person in our program gets to do the things they want and love to do and to explore and discover new interests and passions,” said Lacey Fisher, coordinator of day support services for Rappahannock Area Community Services Board.

For more than 40 years, RAAI day support services have helped caregivers be able to maintain jobs and hobbies, while providing adults with developmental disability chances to develop hobbies and friendships. RAAI serves more than 160 individuals in the City of Fredericksburg and counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford.

Tickets for the beer pairing may be purchased online. Please purchase your tickets by Thursday, Nov. 15. For details, call RAAI at 540/373-7643.
