An annual rite of spring could brighten gardens while helping adults with developmental disabilities flourish in their community. Rappahannock Adult Activities Spring Plant Sale runs through May 11. More than 100 varieties of plants will be available, grown through RAAI’s horticulture therapy program.

This annual sale boosts RAAI’s day support program for adults with developmental disabilities. The program helps participants learn new skills, develop friendships and explore their community. Plant sale proceeds will provide YMCA memberships, museum passes, and swimming passes for participants of RAAI’s day support program.

The sale features annuals, vegetables, hanging baskets, succulents, and herbs.

Customers will be able to purchase plants at RAAI’s greenhouse, 750 Kings Highway in Stafford County (approximately 3 miles east of the Chatham Bridge). Plants will be for sale Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday noon to 4 p.m.

For more than 40 years, RAAI day support services have helped caregivers be able to maintain jobs and hobbies, while providing adults with developmental disability chances to develop hobbies and friendships. RAAI serves more than 160 individuals in the City of Fredericksburg and counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. For details, call RAAI at 540/373-7643
