Is this right for me?

You may benefit from crisis stabilization if you:

  • Are experiencing a mental health crisis and need immediate support
  • Feel unable to cope with daily life due to emotional distress
  • Need more support than outpatient counseling can provide
  • Want to avoid hospitalization when appropriate
  • Need a safe place to stabilize and focus on recovery

About the Sunshine Lady

People often wonder about the cheery name for our crisis stabilization unit. It is named for local philanthropist Doris Buffett, who was instrumental in opening our gorgeous, comfortable, homelike facility.

Buffett, who died in 2020, was known as The Sunshine Lady for her genorosity. In gratitude for her support, we chose the name for our crisis stabilization unit.

Emergency services are always available at 540-373-6876.
